The Nation of Naelaceron

Naelaceron is a monarchy. The primary function of the Naelathen Monarch is to be the commander of any and all military forces, especially as it concerns the War. The noble family controls only the five Royal Cities directly. Outside of these cities leaders are either chosen democratically or the mayors handpick their successors (similar to the apprenticeship system seen through Naelathen society).    The Naelathen royal family is the focus of much attention in the Cities - their life is totally and deliberately public. Their lives are melodramatic soap operas for public amusement. Only the Monarch and the four Princes actually have political power and responsibilities, and are thus exempt from spectacle. The rest of the political power is given to appointed positions beneath these four individuals. Bureaucracy has been avoided only by a refreshingly practical approach to government.    In reality, the three of the four rulers are the heads of separate families - the Princes are not the children of the Monarch, but the first borne of the previous Prince. The families are, however, rather intensely inter-related, and all five rulers are usually at least each other's cousins. Each head of state has a entrusted to him or her a sacred artifact. The Monarch has the Lion Throne, the prince of Mirarm has the Monarch Cloak, etc.

Naelaceron is located in the area between the Worldstree, the Elfpass Mountains, and the Stormy Sea. Naelaceron is connected by the Ashocalionsa River System, flows from the Elfpasses to the Stormy Sea, braching at the capital city of Alantheanor and one of the branches eventually joins the ForestRoad, which flows through Elaceri to the Opaline Ocean. Naelaceron is a vast Nation, and almost all trade and travel is done either via the Ashocalionsa or by means of Travel Magic.

The Flora of Naelaceron is mostly Oaks and other Hardwoods.  In addition to Elves, there are many Fauns, Oak Dryads and Little People. There are also a few Monsters, though mostly under control. There are Dragons, Chemosits, Hippogriffs (which have mostly been tamed) and few other strays.
