The Opaline Ocean is a vast and warm sea whose water are glittering pearl white and pink instead of the expected blue. Though still semitransparent from underneath, the effect cannot be missed.

The Center of Civilization in the Opaline Ocean is in the Hundred Isles area, where the rivers of the Mistflower Jungle and Fire Marsh flow in. Here the Alathaen Mother of Pearls holds court from her Isle of Flutes. Many of the Hundred Isles are linked by sweeping bridges and formations, and a lot of surface transactions take place here. Likewise, the seas around the Hundred Isles are shallow and filled with corals and anemone gardens, rich in life but posing little threat.

The Central Waters are reconnned as the deepest, and there are few islands there. Though Werephins patrol and frollock therein, there are also many monsters, including Lotan dragons, Sirens, Lucsa, Makara and Afanc.

In the SouthWaters there is only one port, Re'suliai, maintained by the Alathae but open to all, especially the Elathe that trade down the ForestRoad. The Southwaters are much calmer than the mid and northern areas, lacking both monsters and valuable shells and such.
