There are three Orders of Knighthood, which are actually a kind of Hero's Club for the High War. The Order are the Knights of the Noonday Sun, the EagleKnights and the Knights of Everdark, more commonly called the Sun Knights, Lunar Knights and (somewhate derisively) NightKnights. These are highly formalized societies with strict Codes of Honor which meet every few years to pound the mess out of each other in stylized combat. On the plus side, Knights are not allowed to engage in random violence and terrorism, and are all, even the Everdarks, given a degree of respect. Knights refuse to use Magic of any kind except racial Knacks, and even those are frowned upon. The do, however, use Enchanted arms and armor, provided the enchantment does nothing more than make the items stronger (ie, no Flaming Swords, etc). One of the primary purposes of the Knights is to prevent unnecessary environmental damage and civilian casualties. This may seem unusual for Unseelies, but one must remember Unseelie does not equate to Evil.

For the most part, Knights are Elven, as few other races are interested in or suited for such ritual combat. A few exceptional Satyrs have joined, but their demophobia and inability to take orders puts strict limits on such.

GryphonKnights

The Elathen nobles have their own order of Knighthood, named for their traditional steeds. Unlike the Three Order of Knighthood, all GryphonKnights are schooled in Lorecraft. They do not fight in battles concerning the High War, instead concentrating on Monster slaying (especially Dragons) and defending the honor of the Royal Houses. All GryphonKnights are, of course, Nobles.

Knights-Savant

The Savants, as would be expected, have their own Order. The Knights-Savant, or Green Knights, are simply Neophytes who rather than pursuing their studies and becoming Acolytes, join the Knighthood. Green Knights are not at all like Rangers, who are schooled in survival and guerilla tactics. Though they are without a doubt skilled warriors, Green Knights are mostly ceremonial or decorative.

Knights of the SilverShield

Shellbacks, the beetle LittlePeople, have their own order of Knighthood with a heavy emphasis on chivalric behavoir and rescuing (Shellback) maidens. Open only to male Shellbacks. Like the GryphonKnights, they take no interest in the High War, and concentrate on defending their own Race and it's odd form of feudalism.
