The Nature of Myth

"Myth" is an inclusive term for a World, its Laws and Forces, the body of Mythology that defines it, and the Sentients that experience it. Complex worlds may have many Myths, and Myths may overlap and grow.

There is only one Myth to Worldstree, as all the Races (except perhaps the Astsantse) share a mindset. Though unusal, the Physical Reality is well defined and solid. Magic is Universal and Constant, as are the Elemental Forces. Despite occupying a nexus between Myths, there are no Gods in Worldstree, or anything like Religion.

The single overriding Myth of Worldstree could be nothing other than the War of Light against Darkness, Good against Evil. Every Tale from the body of Universal Mythology is somehow involved with the War and the High Metals.

The Subtext Myth of Worldstree is the preservation of the Tree itself, involving its unique properties. These Tales often involve Travellers, Savants and Faeries from all Alliances.

Each Race has its own body of Mythology, especially the Elves and Celenes. Cultural Tales may or may not involve the War.
