Bat Celenes are a much misperceived Race. Many Races think they  are Evil when, in truth, they are Militant Warriors against their version of Evil, which primarily consists of Midges and Slyphs. Chirps, as they are called, are concerned almost purely with battle. Young Chirps must kill a Midge before they can become adults, and adults spend their  Lifetimes seeking out Midges and other Dark Faeries. Chirps live together in roosts. They look like tiny Elves with big ears and bat wings growing out of their backs. The wings attach to the sides of the legs, which are also webbed together. Their feet are adapted so that they are unable to stand, and must hang upsidedown to rest.

Bats are most common in the Mistflower Jungles, where there are several Clans that do not live elsewhere. There are Clans that eat fruit, flowers and fish. Most prefer to live in hollow trees or strangler fig shells, in colonies of 30 or so related individuals. Of the Jungle Bats, only the Fisher Chirps make any significant use of tools (nets and harpoons). The insectivorous Bats in the Jungles often live with the Tasiers.
