Faerie Healing

Faerie diseases are those of the soul and mind, not of the body, though this method can also be used to treat wounds and poisonings (though at a great cost). Thus a Faerie Healer is much different from a Celene Herbalist. Gemstones are the tools of the trade for Faerie Healers.

First, a Diagnosis must be made. Faerie Diagnosis is a M/H hard skill that requires the six major stones:  Diamond, Ruby, Sapphire, Aquamarine, Emerald and Jet. These are placed at the six Chakras, and their glows reflect the state of the soul of the patient.

If the problem is a physical wound, the Healer also needs boxes of powered High Metals. Provided the boxes are of weirwood or vitredur, the small amounts of powder will not activate the HighMetal weakness. The stone related to the closest Chakra (diamond - head, ruby - chest, sapphire - arms, jade - groin/abdomen, onyx - legs) must be crushed and mixed with the metal powder congurent with the patient's species. Since crushing some of these stones is rather difficult in the field, most choose to carry small bags of precrushed power. Unless the wound is very serious, 1 carat of stone and 1/4 ounce of power is used. For more serious wounds, this can be doubled, but it will not effect extra healing on smaller wounds.

For psychic healing, the  six secondary stones are used. They are Moonstone, Sunstone, Garnet, Amethyst, Tourmaline and Opal. After several hours of rest, the stones show alignment and the patient is healed. One skill is used for both physical and psychic healing, Faerie Healing (M/VH)

For poisonings, the Major stone related to where the poison entered the body and between three and six of the lesser stones must be crushed and ingested, the number of carats required depending on the severity of the poison and how long it has been in the body. This is a separate skill -Antidote Gems (M/VH).
