Djinns of the BurningDesert

Djinns are the spirits that reside in the Burning Desert. There are Sand, Mirage, Sun and Wind Djinns. At times these spirits come to live in Worldstree permanently. They appear translucent, shapeless (but man-sized) beings made of thier so-named element. Mirage Djinns, FYI look like shifting heat waves. Djinns are given names based on royalty:  Peon, Knight, Lord,  Baron, Viscount, Marquess, Prince, and King.

Each of the Four Kings has a pyramid complex built in their honor by the Hse'eliae. The King is mostly concerned with otherworldly matters and other superpowerful beings.  He will have as many Princes as he has pyramids, one per structure. The Marquess controls all the Djinns of that race that live in the BurningDesert,  and is aided by Viscounts. The Marquess and Viscounts have their own structure, more like a Temple. Barons rule over specific parts of the Desert, and a Lord is assigned to watch each tribe of Hse'eliae and their neighbors. Knights are the warriors Lords use to enforce their wills, and are often sent into battle with wartribes of Sun Elves. Peons are the lowliest servants, found anywhere there are Djinns and also acting as familiars for SkySpeakers.

For the most part, Djinns show little interest in the affairs of ordinary beings. They do, however, interact with eachother, often violently.

Other Djinns

There are SeaDjinns (Coral, Depth, Salt and Fresh), ForestDjinns (Wood, Loam, Fog and Shine),  TundraDjinns (Frost, Ice, Snow, and Gale), PlainsDjinns, etc. Few other races have any knowledge of them, much less, but they are in fact the same Spirits summoned by certain practitioners of Lorecraft.
